Cyprus Pedagogical Institute Was founded in 1972 by the Council of Ministers and was launched in 1973 with the aim "to become the centre, where the profession itself undertakes the reviews of the operations ,activities and cooperative work done by trainers at all levels are involved in teaching in the classroom, or in teaching practice in management roles or educational direction" (Weddell, 1971, 14).
